How much does dentistry cost in your country?

I'm off to the dentist today to get my front tooth fixed as I managed to chip it!
Cost me 60 pounds as luckily it was covered under the NHS due to sensitivity.

My dentist had said it could have costed a lot more under a private dentist which scared me a little.
So... how bad is it for you dentist wise in your countries?
