Do you agree with dangerous dog laws?

I'm of the opinion that dogs are only as dangerous as their (lack of, I think) training and life experience conditions them to be. But it's not that simple - some owners don't or can't properly train the more aggressive breeds. Do you agree with dangerous dog laws and if not, how would you do things differently?
